How this site was built.

The brief, the directions, the cuts, the counts and the limits.

01 / The brief

A flat site for a serious offer.

The old site described governance in four sections. It did not mention adoption, employee enablement or transformation. The answer was to put the record inside the site.

“Flat site. Three services missing. Show what AI made possible. Make the knowledge feel owned.”

Before

  • Four sections on the homepage.
  • Three service cards and one closing call to action.
  • No enablement, adoption or transformation offer.

After

  • Three service lines and a governance layer.
  • A public build receipt and a making-of page.
  • A brand system built from the assets the company already owned.

02 / The method

Six steps. A human at every gate.

01

Thesis

A human chose the argument: the model is a commodity, the business it learns is not.

02

Narrative

AI drafted the sequence and the copy. A human cut it back.

03

System

Colour, type, spacing and components were generated, then locked into tokens.

04

Build

AI wrote the components and the pages. A human reviewed every file that shipped.

05

Review

Copy was checked. Accessibility, contrast and performance were tested.

06

Publish

A human made every publish decision. The site is the first case study.

03 / The cuts

Three ideas we cut.

The trace includes what did not survive. These are the decisions that changed the site.

01

Assertion.

Cut. A website cannot be its own evidence. Replaced with links to the work, the assurance page and the first step.

02

Lime green.

Cut. It read as a startup badge, not a serious firm. Replaced with amber.

03

The purple badge.

Cut. An opaque square fought the paper. Replaced with the transparent ink lockup.

04 / The receipt

What the build contains.

No number here is estimated. Each is counted from the build.

What AI did

  • Drafted the information architecture and the copy.
  • Generated the design directions and the tokens.
  • Wrote and refactored the React and CSS.
  • Ran the repetitive checks: routes, links, contrast, build.

What the human did

  • Chose the thesis and rejected the weaker ones.
  • Set the visual direction and the limits.
  • Removed anything unverifiable.
  • Approved every page before publication.

05 / The artifacts

A design system, not a template.

06 / The limits

What AI did not do.

01

AI did not decide the argument. It can produce a confident paragraph on any thesis, including a false one.

02

AI did not verify the legal text. A person checked it against the source.

03

AI did not choose the brand. A person chose the palette, the type and the tone.

04

AI did not approve the work. A person did, and remains accountable for it.

Next step

Now imagine it applied to your business.

The same method applies to a workflow, a portfolio or an operating model.
